The Anagama Kiln: A Unique Chance to Fire Pottery, Commune with Artists

Using an anagama kiln is a rare opportunity to produce pieces which have a certain "look" often sought after by artists and collectors alike. It's also a special time to commune with fellow clay artists, share a drink or two, and even eat a turkey roasted in a pit. Gary Greenburg (known as "Greeny" by his students) offers an opportunity for his art class at Clarion University to take part in the adventure of firing a wood kiln for three straight days. Student and artisan Nicole St. Laurent shares her experience.

Remote work initiative launches in Pennsylvania Wilds community

Piloting in summer 2022 in the PA Wilds community of Bellefonte, The Wilds Are Working: A Remote Lifestyle Experience will allow remote workers to live, work, volunteer, and explore all that the rural area has to offer. Applications are now open through April 30 to participate in the July 2022 Remote Lifestyle Experience.
