Bellefonte, the seat of Centre County, is located in the southern portion of the Pennsylvania Wilds, along the I-80 Frontier landscape. With a population of just over 6,000 residents, Bellefonte is one of the larger communities in the PA Wilds.

Headquartered in the Match Factory, on the National Register of Historic Places, at 100 Match Factory Place in Bellefonte, the organization was founded in 1886 and serves collectors, educators, postal historians, and the general public by providing a wide variety of programs and services.
