About Tioga County
Tioga County is home to the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon, Pine Creek Rail Trail, 3 state parks, 2 federal parks and seven lakes. There are places to explore nature around the county at birding, hiking, biking, snowmobiling, fishing and hunting hot spots. Visitors can check out some unique destinations such as maple farms, theaters, museums, railroads, apiaries, antique shops and locally-owned shops. Leave the hustle and bustle behind as you discover the charm of our quaint towns, the action of the outdoors and the breathtaking scenery of our landscape. You will be sure to find a treasure around every bend in the road.
Leonard Harrison and Colton Point State Parks are on opposite sides of Pine Creek Gorge, collectively called the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon. Beautiful in every season this glacially-carved canyon provides spectacular vistas and views.
Pine Creek Rail Trail is a 62+ mile multi-use trail that can be used for hiking, bicycling, horseback riding and cross-country skiing. Most of this world-renowned trail is located along the bottom of the Pennsylvania Grand Canyon.
Tioga-Hammond and Cowanesque Lakes offer reservable campsites, unlimited horsepower boating and excellent fishing create the perfect destination for the entire family. Collectively, the Lakes offer 2,268 acres of water with 32 miles of shoreline.
