The Lost Treasure Of John Reaville

In Clinton County, very near where Elk Country meets the I-80 Frontier in the Pennsylvania Wilds, there’s a spot in the forest. It involves old ruins, history, and even a lost treasure. It’s now a part of Sproul State Forest, but once it was a busy mining town, and it was called Revelton.

Small College Baseball and Softball World Series returns to DuBois May 12-16

Baseball is huge in these PA Wilds, and you don’t have to look hard to find it. Williamsport has been hosting the Little League World Series since 1947 and is also home to the Philadelphia Phillies’ minor-league Class A, short-season affiliate Williamsport Crosscutters of the New York-Penn League. Now gaining national attention is the city of DuBois, which steps up to the plate and smacks yet another grand slam for the city and the local economy in landing the Small College Baseball and Softball World Series for the second consecutive year.

The first weekend of Spring hit, and Dale Yohe knew it was time to return to the great outdoors of the Pennsylvania Wilds with his adventure companion, S'mores. Dale, who has been working on building an A-Frame cabin in the woods, enjoys exploring the Wilds and capturing his journeys along the way.

The Mystery of the Capitol Columns

The original Pennsylvania Capitol building was built in 1820. It burned down on February 2, 1897, and it was rebuilt. The original building, before the fire, had six stone columns on the front. They were huge, sixty feet tall. Three of them wound up in the Pennsylvania Wilds. The other three.... well, that's a mystery.

Major renovations at Bradford Regional Airport soon to take flight

For the first time since 1993, Bradford Regional Airport terminal is undergoing a major facelift thanks to funding of $1.2 million from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Aviation Division. The PA Wilds Design Guide is a main source of inspiration for the appearance of the building.

Challenge. Quest. Adventure. One Woman Takes on Pennsylvania’s State Parks

Since about 2013, Jasmyne Andricks has visited 93 of Pennsylvania’s 121 state parks and 16 of Pennsylvania’s 20 state forests.  And all the while, she’s been keeping count in her own Pennsylvania State Parks and State Forests Passport book. How to navigate Pine Creek Valley area despite Slate Run Road closure

Slate Run Road in the northern section of Tiadaghton State Forest was the site of multiple landslides in 2018 due to the extremely rainy weather, causing the road to be closed off in 2018. The PA Department of Conservation & Natural Resources has released an advisory cautioning travelers to avoid Slate Run Road until further notice. DCNR has also released a detailed detour map to help travelers access the recreational assets and communities within the area.
