See the ‘Creative Makers of the PA Wilds’ Exhibit in Lock Haven this September

Traveling along the I-80 Frontier of the Pennsylvania Wilds throughout the month of September? Be sure to stop into the city of Lock Haven to see the "Creative Makers of the Pennsylvania Wilds: A Citywide Exposition." The exhibit will be shown across three venues: The Station Gallery, Avenue 209 Coffee Shop and Lock Haven University's Bentley Hall Gallery.

Visit the Austin Dam ruins August 22-24 for ‘Dam Stock’ festival

The Austin Dam Memorial Park will be the site of a three day festival celebrating the 50 year anniversary of Woodstock come August 22-24. The Austin Dam Show has been taking place for 15 years, but this year it is being billed as “Dam Stock,” nodding to the original “3 Days of Peace & Music” gathering that took place back in August of 1969.

Celebrate Pennsylvania’s River of the Year on the Clarion River Sojourn August 17–18

The public is invited to celebrate the Clarion River’s honor of being voted the 2019 Pennsylvania River of the Year during a two-day group paddling sojourn on Saturday, August 17 and Sunday, August 18. The registration deadline is Wednesday, August 14, 2019.

LH JAMS Festival features 11 bands over 11 hours

On Saturday, August 17, those wishing to have a unique cultural experience are invited to attend the 4th Annual Lock Haven Jazz and Art on Main Street (LH JAMS) Festival. The LH JAMS Festival is a block-party style event that takes over Main Street in downtown Lock Haven, a picturesque I-80 Frontier community that is situated along the West Branch Susquehanna River.

Explore public lands during ‘Parks and Recreation Month’

July is Parks and Recreation Month across the nation. It’s the perfect time to celebrate and explore our public lands and take in the beauty of nature around us. In this rural region, over 2.1 million acres of public lands are protected and set aside for citizens and visitors to enjoy. The Pennsylvania Wilds boasts 29 state parks, eight state forests, and is home to the Commonwealth’s only national forest: the Allegheny National Forest.
