As we enjoy the last full month of summer, it’s the perfect time to get outdoors and take a hike in the Pennsylvania Wilds.
The Outdoor Advocacy Project, Women Who Hike, In Solidarity Project and Latino Outdoors have collaborated to launch #HikeUnited21, an event taking place throughout August 2021 that is designed to get people out on the trails. There’s no specific date, trail or distance required to participate. The goal is simple: bring people together outdoors.
Those who hit the trails in August are asked to simply share their experiences on social media by using #HikeUnited21 as a way to encourage inclusivity and motivate others to explore the outdoors. If you’re hiking in the PA Wilds, use #HikeUnited21 and also tag @thepawilds so we can share your photos!
If you’re looking for other resources or guided experiences, consider checking out our Field Guide partners, including outfitters, platforms developed in the PA Wilds that offer more information on trails and guided booking services; and visitor bureaus who can help you plan your trips or provide additional maps.
