Additional State Forest Roads Open for Hunting Seasons, Outdoor Activities

Hunters and other outdoors enthusiasts heading into Pennsylvania’s state-owned woodlands this autumn will find additional roads open in 18 of the 20 state forest districts. They will stay open through upcoming hunting seasons continuing into January 2019.

Pennsylvania Firefly Festival: Mother Nature’s Fireworks on Full Display

Fireflies, who doesn't love them? The mere thought of them brings back vivid childhood memories of barefoot warm summer nights and a Mason jar with holes punched in the lid. One of the Pennsylvania Wilds most famous gatherings, The Pennsylvania Firefly Festival (PAFF) will celebrate the local firefly population during their 6th annual event on June 23 in Kellettville, PA, deep in the Allegheny National Forest’s Tionesta Creek Valley.

Two PA Wilds Residents Earn 2018 ‘Do 6’ Awards from PA Route 6 Alliance

On May 17, 2018, a handful of individuals, organizations and businesses from across the U.S. Route 6 corridor in Pennsylvania were recognized for their efforts to protect, preserve and enhance the scenic, cultural, historical and recreational resources of the region. Two Pennsylvania Wilds residents who have been immersed in the regional effort to grow nature and heritage tourism were honored: Warren County Planner Dan Glotz and photographer Curt Weinhold.
