The Knox/Kane Rail to Trail represents a critical connection between the scenic Route 6 Corridor (Pa Bike Route “Y”) and the Great Allegheny Passageway. It creates opportunities for both business and recreation alike and is another major step on showcasing all the PA Wilds and the Commonwealth have to offer.

The Forum will provide for a wide range of presentations covering health benefits and economic /community development opportunities. Presentations explaining the vital connections between Rails to Trails and the Pa Bike Route network will be discussed, enhancing the opportunities for more communities to benefit from the infrastructure roll out.

Funding opportunities for those interested in taking advantage of the infrastructure “explosion” will be covered in what is sure to be a lively panel presentation ranging from local foundations to state wide public and private resources.  The Forum provides valuable information not just for PA Wilds communities, but anybody interested in learning how the concepts apply throughout Pennsylvania.

This exciting opportunity is being held on June 15 at the Marienville Area Civic Association building in Marienville PA. For more information and to register, go to:  http://www.pawildscenter.org/news/june-15-the-knox-and-kane-rail-trail-is-a-realitynow-what/

Author: Kristin Lewis
Born and raised in the PA Wilds, I grew up surrounded by vast forest in a supportive, small town community that's been home to 5 generations of my family. After 10 years of living in urban areas, I relocated back to my home in the Wilds. While I love to adventure and travel, the PA Wilds Lifestyle to me is second to none... it's the great forested landscapes, fresh air and room to move, close-knit communities and endless opportunities for outdoor recreation, fun journeys, the arts and unique and authentic small businesses. Wild and welcoming!
