The PA Wilds has over 2.1 million acres of public land which includes a number of state game lands for hunters. Hunting is safe and getting safer, thanks to hunter education. Make safety the first priority and learn more about hunting safety with these courses provided by the PA Game Commission.

A Portion of Timberline ATV Trail Closed

The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Forest Service has announced that the east side of the “D” Loop on the Timberline ATV Trail has temporarily closed starting at 9:00 a.m. on August 13, 2021.

2021 Public Lands Ride: Two ways to participate!

The PEC is hosting the 2021 Public Lands Ride at Black Moshannon State Park to celebrate and showcase the wealth of public parks and forests across the Commonwealth, bringing awareness to public lands as an invaluable resource for us to protect and enjoy. The in-person event will take place on October 2nd, 2021, but there are 6 new routes in different state forests to be ridden anytime.

The Outdoor Advocacy Project, Women Who Hike, In Solidarity Project and Latino Outdoors have collaborated to launch #HikeUnited21, an event taking place throughout August 2021 that is designed to get people out on the trails. There’s no specific date, trail or distance required to participate. The goal is simple: bring people together outdoors.

The US Department of Agriculture, Forest Service is conducting a Recreation Site Analysis (RSA) of sixty-three developed recreation sites in the Allegheny National Forest. Public Comments are welcome and will be excepted until September 10th, 2021.
