Planning a day trip for a young sports fan, or are you yourself a lifelong baseball or softball enthusiast? Williamsport’s Little League Baseball Museum will capture your imagination and inspire you to dream big.
The Little League Baseball Museum originally opened in 1982 and has welcomed tens of thousands of visitors each year since then. Over the years, the museum has been renovated and has added in new, interactive exhibits.
The museum has many permanent exhibits, with favorites such as the Lamade Stadium display and batting and pitching cages. However, due to the fact that they also have many additional materials collected in the achives, there are often other displays and exhibits that are rotated out. This means that even repeat visitors will have something new to see, along with the permanent exhibits that they know and love!
The World of Little League Baseball Museum tells not only the history of Little League Baseball and Softball, but also how that sports history relates to world events and cultural shifts. Personal stories and historical articles are displayed alongside the history of the sport, giving visitors a true picture of how the Little League program was formed in 1939 and how it continues to grow today.
