Capture the stars! PA Great Outdoors stargazing photo contest open October-December
Information from the Pennsylvania Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau
Did you know that our area has some of the darkest skies in the country? Our velvety black skies are perfect for admiring the stars, meteor showers, the full moon, and even sometimes the aurora borealis!
Capture the beautiful night sky and stars in a photo… and you could even win some prizes! There are many great places to go stargazing in Pennsylvania’s Great Outdoors region, part of the Pennsylvania Wilds that includes the counties of Cameron, Elk, and Forest. If you capture some of those special starry skies with a photo while traveling in the PA Great Outdoors region, consider entering it into the latest photo contest.
Whether you live in the region or have taken a photo while traveling here, you’re invited to enter the Pennsylvania Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau’s Stargazing Photo Contest!
“Our photo contests are very popular with travelers and locals alike,” said John Straitiff, Executive Director of the Pennsylvania Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau. “This contest gives people the chance to show off their photos highlighting the natural beauty of the dark skies and incredible stargazing opportunities in the region.”
