Spectacular Sunrises & Sunsets photo contest focuses on 5 PA Wilds counties

Have you seen a phenomenal sunrise or sunset? If you’ve taken a photo of that beautiful dawn or dusk sky in Pennsylvania’s Great Outdoors region (part of the Pennsylvania Wilds that includes the counties of Cameron, Clarion, Elk, Forest and Jefferson), that photo could win you some cash!
The Pennsylvania Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau is starting their Spectacular Sunrises & Sunsets photo contest, which will be open from the beginning of September until the end of November.
There are many vistas in the region that produce spectacular sunrises and sunsets. Whether you’ve taken the photo in years past or you’re planning on heading out to take a photo specifically for the contest, you’re welcome to submit your entry.
Photos can be submitted from September 1, 2022, through November 30, 2022.
Finalists’ photos will be posted online in December with the four entries receiving the most votes winning the following cash prizes: 1st Place $100, 2nd Place $75, 3rd Place $50, and 4th Place $25.
To enter, complete the entry form and upload your photos at VisitPAGO.com/contest. The only requirements are that the photo meets the Colors of Autumn photo contest theme and must be taken in Jefferson, Elk, Clarion, Forest or Cameron Counties.
“Our photo contests are very popular with travelers and locals alike. These contests give people the chance to show off their photos highlighting the beauty, people, places, and events of the region during each season,” says John Straitiff, executive director of Pennsylvania Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau.
