Outfitting the PA Wilds: Crooked Roots Adventures
Part of the Outfitting the PA Wilds series
Crooked Roots Adventures LLC encourages you to go outside your comfort zone and explore all that the Upper Pine Creek area has to offer!
Located in Gaines, Tioga County, in the Pine Creek Valley and PA Grand Canyon landscape of the PA Wilds, Crooked Roots Adventures takes full advantage of the wonderful variety of outdoor recreation opportunities in this wild and beautiful region.
Established in 2018, Crooked Roots Adventures’ motto is to embrace adventures that get you back to nature and the basics.
From paddle boarding, to rock climbing, river tube rentals and yoga, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
For those who are just starting out or want to learn a new skill, Crooked Roots offers stand-up paddle boarding lessons on the lake. Once you have completed all the lessons on the lake, they then transition into a guided river trip on the Upper Pine Creek River.
Scrambling to find something that will take you to new heights? They also offer guided rock climbing trips in the Tioga State Forest.
Get in tune with nature with one of Crooked Roots Adventures’ yoga classes… held indoors, outdoors or even on a paddle board! All levels are welcome, and the class can be as challenging or as easy as you’d like. This alignment-based yoga is meant to modify to your ability, not force you to conform to a pose.
As a true outfitter and field guide, Crooked Roots Adventures gives travelers of all skill levels the ability to explore this incredible landscape.
In addition to guided journeys, travelers can also rent equipment for day rentals, including stand-up paddle boards and river tubes.
Crooked Roots Adventures also hosts the annual “Crooked Cross” gravel grinder bike event, scheduled each year in October in the Pine Creek Valley.
Crooked Roots is a Field Guide member in the Experience Makers category of the Wilds Cooperative of Pennsylvania. Learn more about Crooked Roots and leave them a review or recommendation on their WCO profile.
