October 20 ‘Fall Marketplace’ at Kinzua Bridge to feature gifts made in the PA Wilds

On Saturday, October 20, the PA Wilds Conservation Shop at Kinzua Bridge State Park will host a “Fall Marketplace-Cornucopia of Craftsmanship” event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A variety of unique and handcrafted and locally-made gifts will be available, along with a food truck offering local fare.

New Moonshine Book Reflects the Can-Do Rebel Spirit of the PA Wilds

With the release of 'Moonshine: A Celebration of America’s Original Rebel Spirit,' John Schlimm II has now written 18 books while living in the Pennsylvania Wilds. Spanning culinary and entertaining, inspirational memoir, how-to, history, educational, good works, essays, beer, and now moonshine— Schlimm's works draw breath from the forests, dirt roads, and bars from this region.

PA Wilds Conservation Shop at Kinzua Bridge: Take home a piece of the PA Wilds

Kinzua Bridge State Park is a favorite among tourists and locals alike.  The tornado of 2003 which destroyed much of the bridge has created a fantastic destination. Visitors can walk out to the still-standing section of the viaduct onto the skywalk to see the twisted remains and breathtaking views, enjoy the new Visitor's Center, and take home a regionally-made keepsake at the PA Wilds Conservation Shop.

Artist, educator, outdoor enthusiast. Kim Gates Flick is all three. The Centre County native practices en plein air artwork, teaches as a Visual Art professor at The Pennsylvania State University, and commonly refers to herself as “a native daughter of the Bald Eagle Mountains.”
