Donated easement helps protect West Branch Susquehanna River Basin

The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy recently announced the permanent protection of a 100-acre property in Penn Township, Clearfield County, that is bordered by approximately 6,000 feet of stream frontage along Bell Run, a tributary in the headwaters of the West Branch Susquehanna River.

USDA Forest Service opens additional  ATV/OHM trails on Feb 20

The Allegheny National Forest will open the Rocky Gap and Marienville all-terrain vehicle and off-highway motorcycle (ATV/OHM) trails at 8 AM on Saturday, February 20, 2021.

DCNR Warns of Hazardous Conditions on State Forest Roads

Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) Secretary Cindy Adams Dunn warns travelers that sustained cold temperatures and a string of snowstorms have left many state forest roads impassable and she urged motorists to stay off them until conditions improve.

Timberline ATV/OHM trail opens in Allegheny National Forest

The Allegheny National Forest (ANF) will open the Timberline all-terrain vehicle and off-highway motorcycle (ATV/OHM) trail at noon today, February 12, 2021. Permits are required to ride the Forest’s ATV/OHM trails.

Penn State Extension is now accepting applications for the first Master Watershed Steward Program in Cameron, Elk, Potter and McKean counties. Applications are being accepted from all PA Wilds counties.
