Enjoy the Ride
Take your time traveling along the meandering curves of the Longhouse Scenic Byway, through the Allegheny National Forest. This road is used as an access point for many recreational activities in the ANF, including camping, fishing, boating and hiking, but it stands on it's own as a distinctively peaceful road-trip journey. Follow the speed limit for safety - but also to give you time to soak up the surrounding forested landscape!
The Trails at Jakes Rocks
Mountain Biking & Boulder Hiking - From easy-breezy scenic vista hikes, to adrenaline-pumping mountain biking trails, Jakes Rocks is a short turn off of the Longhouse Scenic Byway with clearly marked signage.
Don't miss a stop at the north end of the Longhouse Byway for a breathtaking view of the Allegheny Reservoir and the Allegheny Plateau.
