Hiking the Fred Woods Trail
Tips
Located nearby the Bucktail Overlook, the Fred Woods Trail is 4.57 miles long and marked in yellow paint. The trail includes incredible rock formations and two stunning vistas along the way. To find the trail, head west on route 555 from Driftwood and turn right onto Mason Hill Road. Go 2.75 miles on Mason Hill Road and the trail head will be on your left and the parking will be on your right. Tips from PA Great Outdoors: “People bothered by tight spaces should be wary of the Rock Loop. Wear your hiking shoes -- portions of the trail are rocky.” Caution - please remain alert while hiking; there are rattlesnakes along the Fred Woods Trail.
