Don’t miss the Elk Expo in held annually in August. The Pennsylvania Game Commission holds their annual elk license drawing live at the Expo, drawing in thousands of hunters and spectators. The event is family friendly, with a multitude of vendors, from food to fine art and crafts. The PA Great Outdoors Elk Expo won the PA Wilds 2015 Event of the Year!

Enjoy Kids Activities

For kids, there are lots of fun activities and educational opportunities, presented by the Elk Country Visitor Center, including horse-drawn wagon rides, an archery shoot, many interactive exhibits, and a 4D sensory surround theater. New this year, everyone will enjoy the wild yarns of the very funny professional storyteller Denny Murray. The youth calling contests are always a crowd favorite, where kids can show off their talent for imitating elk and turkey calls.

Pennsylvania Game Commission

The annual Pennsylvania Game Commission elk hunting license drawing and the Keystone Elk Country Alliance bull of a lifetime tag drawing always attract large crowds. Parking is available in Benezette with shuttle services to the ECVC grounds.

Celebrate Everything Elk!

The PA Great Outdoors Visitors Bureau proudly partners with the Keystone Elk Country Alliance to host the 2017 Pennsylvania Great Outdoors Elk Expo August 19-20 on the beautiful grounds surrounding the Elk Country Visitor Center on Winslow Hill in Benezette. The Elk Expo features a variety of nationally recognized speakers making presentations on nature and wildlife, hunting topics, and offering educational seminars. Many local outdoors experts, including Pennsylvania Game Commission, sportsman’s clubs, and Pheasants Forever, will also be on hand providing updates and information about the region. Enjoy kids activities, vendors offering handmade products and outdoor gear, festival food and live music.
