10th Annual Allegheny River Cleanup is Sept. 8-15; Register by Aug. 31 to participate
The Allegheny River is one of two National Wild & Scenic Rivers in the Pennsylvania Wilds and it is a prime water trail for paddlers and anglers.
Every year in Warren County, the surrounding community comes together to cleanup man-made debris from the waterway and this year’s event is fast approaching.
The 10th Annual Allegheny River Cleanup will take place between September 8-15, and everyone is welcome to get involved!
This year’s community conservation event will include two days on Conewango Creek and three days on mainstem Allegheny from Kinzua Dam to Wildwood.
Volunteers can sign up to participate in one cleanup or all – but must do so by Friday, August 31st.
Each day, cleanups will kick off at 8:30 AM.

Wrapping up the week-long stewardship event will be the River Riot Awards Party at 6 PM Saturday, September 15 at Pellegrino’s Italian Market, 449 Conewango Ave., Warren.
In 2017, the Allegheny River Cleanup brought together a total of 317 volunteers who together removed 5,350 pounds of metal, 94 tires, and 35 cubic feet of trash from Allegheny River and Conewango Creek. In total, the Allegheny River Cleanups have contributed to the removal of more than 93,849 pounds, 421 cubic feet of garbage and more than 1,428 tires so far.
