Western PA CARES for Kids and Brookville YMCA will be holding their 11th Annual Duathlon, 5K and Community Fun Run/Walk at Cook Forest State Park Shelter 2 in Cooksburg, PA. The Duathlon consists of a 3.1 mile run then a 12-mile bike ride and ends with another 2 mile run.

Many participate in this event as teams of 2 or 3, but this event can also be done solo. The 5k is a 3.1-mile race on a mix of trails and paved roads in Cook Forest. These events are timed with the exception of the 2 mile community fun run/walk.

All those who are pre-registered by June 28th will receive a free t-shirt. There is also an award ceremony and free picnic lunch provided to all racers and spectators following the event.

Each participant is encouraged to raise donations for Western PA CARES for Kids, Inc. and bring along on race day. Each participant bringing donations will be entered to win prizes. Any participant raising over $75.00 will be eligible for top prizes. Participants with highest amount of donations get first pick of all prizes.
