Over 600 miles of seasonal trails in the Allegheny National Forest provide year-round recreational opportunities.
Pennsylvania Route 6, the Kinzua Bridge and the Longhouse Scenic Byways are perfect for touring by motorcycle, car or RV. “Walk the Tracks Across the Sky” at the Kinzua Bridge State Park or explore America’s history at the Eldred World War II Museum. The Zippo/Case Museum in Bradford, home of the Zippo lighter is a must see attraction.
For over a century, the “Tracks Across the Sky” have attracted visitors from near and far. Originally the worlds longest and highest viaduct, it was constructed in just 94 days in 1882. In July of 2003 a tornado swept through the gorge, toppling 11 of the 20 towers. The Kinzua Sky Walk, 225 feet above the valley, features a large overlook with a partial glass floor. Free Admission. Explore lush forest, 600+ miles of trails, Willow Bay cabins, and campsites galore in the Allegheny National Forest. Fishing on the Allegheny Reservoir, hiking shuttles, interpretive programing, and during the winter “Do the Loop” on over 200 miles of groomed snowmobile trails.
Northwestern Pennsylvania’s most visited museum, Zippo/Case Museum. Two classic “Made in America” products are manufactured in Bradford and are highlighted on the guided tour in the museum. The gift shop features Zippo and Case products not available anywhere else in the world. Free admission.
The Eldred WW II Museum & Learning Center is history you can see, touch and feel. This world-class museum features the Gallery of Valor, award winning video, an authentic submarine periscope and an M255 tank.
