About Clarion County

Clarion County is the gateway to the Pennsylvania Wilds and is filled with exciting activities to do and fascinating things to see.  Cook Forest State Park, two Wild & Scenic rivers and a world famous fall festival brand this area as a perfect destination for outdoor adventure.

Foxburg is a charming little destination located in the Clarion Allegheny River Valley.  Browse the American Golf Hall of Fame and the Foxburg Country Club, the oldest golf course in continuous use in the United States.  Overlooking the Allegheny River, you are able to enjoy a delicious meal at the Allegheny Grille, live music on the Green, specialty wines from the Foxburg Winery, Segway tours, performances on the Wurlitzer Theater Organ and so much more!

Nationally designated Wild & Scenic Clarion and Allegheny Rivers – This important designation preserves the scenic, recreational, geologic, wildlife and historic characteristics of the river.  The miles of scenic waterways invite you to enjoy your favorite water activities including fishing, boating, canoe/kayaking, tubing and much more!

Cook Forest State Park is the perfect getaway destination for many reasons.  It is secluded and quiet with limited cell phone reception to unplug and unwind.  Miles of trails winding around mountainous terrain, the Wild & Scenic Clarion River and significant timber stands.  The “Black Forest” is home to the Longfellow Pine, the tallest tree in the Northeastern United States.  Popular activities include family camping and cabining, fishing, picnicking, swimming, canoe/kayaking, biking, and hiking along with winter activities such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, sledding, and snowmobiling.
