Welcome to the Pennsylvania Wilds, home of the most spectacular,
untouched and undisturbed wild lands east of the Mississippi.
Set foot anywhere in this 12-county region of northcentral and northwestern
Pennsylvania and you'll be overwhelmed by the same breathtaking beauty that
has greeted others for centuries: more than two million acres of land where
beaver, fox, bobcat, black bear, white-tailed deer and other wildlife -
including the largest elk herd in the northeastern U.S. - still roam freely;
forests where towering hemlocks and white pines mingle with beech, maple,
oak and other trees that turn brilliant shades of red, orange and yellow
every fall; thousands of miles of crystal-clear streams, rivers and
waterways teeming with native trout, small and largemouth bass, walleye and
other game and panfish; deep blue skies where bald eagles, osprey and
hundreds of other bird species can be seen during the day - but become the
darkest skies in the eastern U.S. when the sun sets, and provide the best
view of the heavens once could ever experience.
With so many things to see and do in such a beautiful setting, we're certain
that you'll want to experience everything that the Pennsylvania Wilds has to
offer. But don't just take out word for it - pay us a visit and take a walk
on the "Pennsylvania Wilds" side.
