Cross-Country Skiing and Snowshoeing

Imagine the peace and serenity of the forest in the winter - the crisp air, the brilliant white snow clinging to tree branches, the quiet stillness broken only by the sound of a gently-flowing stream. This is the winter wonderland that awaits you in the Pennsylvania Wilds.

If downhill skiing is more to your liking, then consider visiting Ski Denton Resort (Potter County), with a peak elevation of 2,400 feet, three lifts, 23 skiing and snowboarding trails ranging from easy to black diamond, a terrain park and a tubing park; or Sawmill Mountain Resort (Lycoming County), with a peak elevation of 2,215 feet, one lift, 13 skiing and snowboarding trails, a terrain park and a tube slide with four runs.

If you are interested in Cross-Country Skiing, our state parks and forests along with the Allegheny National Forest offer miles of cross-country skiing trails including other winter sports - ice skating, snowshoeing, tubing and sledding.  For more information on cross-country skiing in our State Parks CLICK HERE
